THIS AGREEMENT, made this 24th day of February, in the year nineteen hundred and twenty, between the YOUNG WOMEN'S CHRISTIAN ASSOCIATION OF BALTIMORE CITY and the COLORED YOUNG WOMEN'S CHRISITAN ASSOCIATION OF BALTIMORE CITY,
CERTIFIES that Colored Young Women's Christian Association of Baltimore City is hereby made a branch of the Young Women's Christian Association of Baltimore City, with representation on the Metropolitan Board through the Chairman of an affiliating committee, to be organized as hereinafter set out.
The affiliating committee shall be composed of ten members, who shall hold office for the term of one year. Of these members five members (white) shall be appointed by the President of the Young Woman's Christian Association of Baltimore City, and five members shall be appointed by the Chairman of the Colored Branch. The Chairman of the affiliating committee shall be selected from among the five members appointed by the President of the Young Women's Christian Association of Baltimore City.
The committee of management of the Colored Branch shall hereafter always be composed of colored women chosen by colored women, and it shall direct and control the affairs and work among colored young women and girls, subject to the general control of the Metropolitan Board, which shall be exercised through the affiliating committee.
The committee of management of the Colored Branch shall elect a colored woman to act as assistant to the Treasurer of the Young Women's Christian Association of Baltimore City. The assistant to the Treasurer so elected shall act as Treasurer for the Colored Branch, which, for the present, shall collect and administer its own funds. This financial arrangement shall be subject to change on recommendation of the affiliating committee.
The Colored Young Women's Christian Association of Baltimore City as a consideration for the execution of this agreement conveys to the Young Woman's Christian Association of Baltimore City all its property, to be held, however, for the use of colored women and girls. If the Young Women's Christian Association of Baltimore through the Metropolitan Board at any time wishes to discontinue branch relationship, it may do so upon recommendation from the affiliating committee. In such case, the property thus transferred by the Colored Young Women's Christian Association of Baltimore City plus any additions made thereto for the work with colored women and girls, shall be used only for work among colored women and girls, under such direction as at that time seems best.
