Introduction

   During this period, Murray was sending Lutz bulletins of the progress in the court cases she was working on. In this letter, Lutz described the good news she had just received about the decision in White v. Crook. She immediately grasped the historical and legal significance of the first federal court decision to include women in the equal protection clause of the Fourteenth Amendment.

How good of you to send me the good news about White V Crook. I am delighted at the lanuage of the opinion.

Now where do you go from there?

Am I right that this is the first time the Courts have given an opinion relating women to the "equal protection" clause of the 14th Amendment.
