The National Advisory Council on Violence Against Women and the Violence Against Women Office publishes its indepth analysis of the problem of violence against women and potential solutions on this website.

Violence Against Women Office

Under the umbrella of the U.S. Department of Justice, the Violence Against Women Office, founded in 1995, addresses the policy and legal needs of the Department of Justice, provides information on violence against women, and works with selected government departments at federal, state and tribal levels to aid in implementation of the Violence Against Women Act. This office also adminsters grants to government and community initiatives aimed at providing services for victims of violence and to aid in the prosecuting perpetrators of violence.

Bella Abzug: The Spirit of Houston, 1977

Sponsored by the Jewish Women's Archive, this biographical sketch publishes photos and provides information about Bella Abzug's role in gaining government funding for the Houston Conference.
