#EmpireSuffrageSyllabus represents a collaboration between faculty and graduate students based at University of California (members of the UC Consortium for the Study of Women’s, Gender, and Sexuality History in the Americas) and in partnership with the Women and Social Movements journal and database published by Alexander Street/ProQuest.
Through funding provided by the Multicampus Research Group grant, given by the University of California Humanities Research Institute, we hosted discussions at the University of California, Berkeley and the University of California, San Diego in fall 2019 and winter 2020. We also hosted two virtual review workshops in fall 2020, organized by the University of California, Davis.
This project was inspired by the public history interventions of the #PuertoRicoSyllabus, #FergusonSyllabus, #CharlestonSyllabus.
