Ina D. Coolbrith was a librarian and poet laureate of California. She was a strong supporter of woman suffrage, with references to her activism in volumes 4 and 6 of the History of Woman Suffrage. She was said to be "[a]mong the most effective speakers and writers" for woman suffrage in California in 1891 and continued to be active in the successful suffrage campaign in 1911.
