An active Oklahoma City socialite, she chaired the constitution and by-laws committee of the Housewives League in 1916. Daugherty served as president of the Oklahoma City Federation of Women's Clubs in 1917. During World War I, she organized first aid classes in her home. In September 1917 she spoke before the West Side Civic Association regarding Red Cross work and plans for that organization to help in the war effort. By 1919 Alberta Daugherty worked as assistant director of the State Health Board of Oklahoma.

Alberta Daugherty died on February 21, 1934, in Oklahoma City. She is buried beside her husband in Rose Hill Burial Park, Oklahoma City.
