Document 13: "List of Prices," Annual Report of 1894, unprocessed collection of YWCA of Greater Baltimore, 128 W. Franklin Street, Annual Reports, 1883-1902.
Introduction
This document lists the prices for the boarding house, meals and classes offered through the YWCA of Baltimore in 1894. Intentionally kept low, the fees were often waived if a girl showed need and was of acceptable moral character. Eventually, many YWCA's would raise their prices at the request of the boarders themselves. The young women who chose to live at the YWCA were willing to pay more money to ensure that the Association maintained higher standards of admission.
