Sister of Boys Urges Support
of I. L. D.

    SUPERIOR, Wis., Sept. 6. -- Miss Beatrice Maddox, the sister of Andy and Roy Wright, two of the Scottsboro boys, spoke here on Sept. 2 at a meeting protesting the frame-up and boss court lynch verdict. The meeting was held in Union Labor Hall under the auspices of the International Labor Defense, the organization charged by the boys and their families with their defense.

    Miss Maddox called upon the Negro and white workers present to rally to the defense of the nine boys and to fight against the boss terror against the Negro people. She urged the workers to join the International Labor Defense. …

    Miss Maddox is making a tour of the northern part of Minnesota with Bertha Weiss. They will speak in the following cities:

    Eveleth, Minn., Sept. 8; Ely, Sept. 9; Carson Lake, Sept. 10; Chisholm, Sept. 11; Hibbing, Sept. 12; Nashwauk, Sept. 13; Bemidji, Sept. 14; Crosby, Sept. 16; Minneapolis, Sept. 17; St. Paul, Sept. 18.
