Introduction

        These telegrams sent by Lucy Biddle Lewis, Chairman of the Pennsylvania branch of the Women's International League for Peace and Freedom, and Hannah Clothier Hull to Congressman Thomas S. Butler inquire as to whether the House Committee on Naval Affairs had asked the DAR to investigate WILPF.[9]

Branch of the Womens' [sic] International League for Peace and Freedom, I should like to have you confirm or deny the reports we are receiving that the Committee on Naval Affairs of the House has requested the D.A.R. to report to your Committee on the work and finances of the W.I.L.
