Introduction

This brochure was produced and distributed by the Iowa Women’s Equality Campaign in 1992.  It also references the fund-raising letter sent out by Christian Coalition leader Pat Robertson. Similar to Document 12 and Document 14 this brochure addresses directly the attacks and motivations of ERA opponents, specifically the radical religious right and the danger of rejecting the state amendment again. The brochure uses the text of the amendment to emphasize the legal implications of the legislation and its potential for eliminating inequality in any state government institutions.

Pat Robertson and the far right have declared war on Iowa women.

Help us fight back, before it's too late.

Pat Robertson claims that feminist backing the Iowa Amendment for equal rights for women have a hidden agenda that:

"encourages women to leave their husbands, kill their children, practice witchcraft, destroy capitalism and become lesbians."

This is what he is using to incite his followers to target Iowa and defeat Amendment . Don't let Robertson and the radical right defeat equal rights for women one more time with these tactics of fearmongering, hatred and bigotry.

Help us register voters and get out the vote on Election Day. To sign up to win equality in Iowa and defeat Pat Robertson, Call the Equality Hotline at 244-4349.
